Gladiatus is a free browser-based MMO for Mac game set in the brutal world of gladiator combat. The game is largely focused on arena combat and this is where players test their mettle and face off against other players’ gladiators in battle. Fighting opponents placed higher than you in the arena ratings system gains your gladiator experience and honor. In addition to this, players also earn gold by competing in arena matches of any kind. As you fight more battles, your gladiator will naturally become stronger and you can use the gold you earn to upgrade the gladiator’s weapons and armor too. As your gladiator becomes more powerful you can challenge players higher up the ratings and ultimately go for the top spot where wealth and fame await you!

The game offers three different types of Arena where you may compete and each has its own ratings and ladder system. There is the basic Arena where your gladiator fights other gladiators, the Circus Omnipotens where you must advance through several fights in a row to win the jackpot, and finally the Circus Turma where teams of Mercenaries face off in a brutal showdown and brawl it out for the grand prize. The Circus Turma is certainly the most difficult of the three to succeed in, and only the most dedicated players do well, but competing on any of the ladders is completely the player’s decision.

Although the concepts behind Gladiatus are simple, the game offers plenty of depth and complexity to keep players entertained. Choosing the correct strategy to advance your gladiator at each stage of the arena ladder can be extremely challenging and knowing who to fight and when can be quite difficult to fathom. Due to Gladiatus being a persistent-world MMO for Mac game you can easily pick it up and put it down whenever you wish, making it the ideal casual game to spend short breaks on.
